Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:28-30, NRSV).

You are welcome to join the 40 days online Lenten retreat. This retreat is designed for all those who desire to walk closer with God. It is suitable for beginners as well as for those seeking advanced spiritual development. It can be done at the convenience of your own space. You can do this retreat by yourself, as a family, or as a group. The 40 days of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and concludes on Holy Saturday. These 40 days exclude all the Sundays during Lent, which will be a no-retreat day. However, I encourage you to spend the Day of the Lord in holiness and contemplation. You can re-do this retreat at any time of the year.

The aim of the retreat is to grow in holiness. This retreat provides you with the tools and principles based on scripture, and it will help you to have a conversion experience. This retreat is designed to convert a sinner into a saint. If you want to have a personal relationship with Jesus, all you need for this retreat is a humble attitude, a persevering spirit, courage, and love for Jesus Christ.

One might ask, is it possible that one can become a saint, just by reading a book or a blog? Highly unlikely because reading only provides the knowledge, the principles, and the guidance. Unless you do the will of God, it is impossible for anyone to become a saint. This retreat is not for the faint hearted, but for those who are courageous, to get out of their comfort zone, and walk with Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ walked on Calvary. It’s not easy to climb a mountain with a cross on your shoulder. You get the picture of what sainthood really demands. We have our own Calvary to climb and our own cross to carry. “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Mt 7:13-14). Jesus Christ invites you to come and be alone with him on this retreat, where He will lead you and He will guide you to eternal life, “for many are invited, but few are chosen”.
