Lectio Divina is one of the prevalent ways of reading, meditating, and praying the Scriptures. Meditating on Scripture, on a regular basis, helps us to listen to the voice of God, personally speaking to us through Scriptures. To progress in our spiritual life, we must obey the word of God. How can one obey if one does not know what the word of God says? People often say that they do not hear the voice of God. We are unable to hear God’s voice, if we are in rebellion with God, or disobedient to His words. Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God (John 8:47). However, if you obey the words of God, the Holy Spirit will remind us of God’s words at the appropriate moment and guide us in our everyday life. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you (John 14:26).

When God speaks to us, we know His voice. He speaks to our innermost being and we know, it is His voice. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). It is not enough to hear God’s voice; it is imperative that we also obey Him. Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it (Luke 11:28).

In the Eucharist, we receive Jesus Christ, and in Scripture, we also receive Jesus Christ. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). The word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12)
