Do you struggle to be joyful always? Especially, when things go wrong, or if you are anxious about something? Most people are joyful when everything turns out to be perfect. The truth is nothing ever turns out perfect every time. Most people go through life sad, depressed, lonely, and bitter. What if, there was a way to be joyful always, no matter what happened? What if, being joyful always, was easier than you thought?

Scripture teaches us to be joyful always (Phil 4:4), joyful not just in the auspicious moments of life, but joyful in the everyday ordinary moments, and even in times of adversities. It is easier to be joyful when your dreams come true, but to be joyful in the mundane things and in hardship, may be humanly impossible. However, we know that with God, all things are possible (Mk 10:27).

When I am on holidays, I usually carry two pairs of sunglasses, one dark-coloured, either brown or grey, and the other rose-coloured glasses. I usually wear the darker shades but, when we arrive at a scenic location, I swap to the rose-coloured glasses. The view itself is awesome, but with the rose-coloured glasses, the beautiful creation of God is accentuated. I am not suggesting that you wear rose-coloured glasses, what I am trying to say is that, how you see things makes all the difference.

Whenever our will is in unison with God’s will, everything becomes clearer and is in harmony. We focus more on God and less on ourselves, and our circumstances. This perception leads us into fullness of joy.  You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalms 16:11, NRSV)
