God Makes All Things New
The joy of newness rejuvenates our soul. The Holy Spirit stirs within us this hope of joy that comes through newness; a newness that is infused with grace; a grace given at repentance that results in conversion. A promise of God to all mankind that He will make all things new. Imagine all things, especially, the old becoming new!
There is an inevitable gloom of despair amongst those that are aging, which in fact, is all of us. However, for many, this sadness increases with age, as they know their end draws near. St Paul encourages us with these words, “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day” (2 Cor 4:16).
Those who believe in Jesus Christ, have this newness of joy within them, because their vision is not on what is passing away but on the promises of Christ, who makes all things new. But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
How can one find this joy of newness? It is found only in Jesus Christ, who makes all things new. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Cor 5:17).
