Jesus Christ in the Eucharistic Adoration
The Eucharist is the Body and the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We receive the Eucharist during mass at Holy Communion. During Eucharistic Adoration, the Eucharist is revealed in a monstrance for adoration. Eucharistic Adoration usually takes place in a church during Holy Hour, or in a chapel, where the Eucharist is placed for perpetual adoration.
In Eucharistic Adoration, Jesus is inviting us to be present with Him physically, to adore Him in the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration leads us to intense prayer, whether it is communal prayer or individual prayer. Prayer can be vocal, mental, or just adoring Jesus in silence.
The benefits of Eucharistic Adoration are endless, including:
- We are filled with the Holy Spirit.
- Helps us to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion often.
- Makes us better people.
- Leads us to eternal life with Jesus Christ.
- Helps us to hear God’s voice and obey it.
- Helps us to develop virtues.
- We receive many graces.
- We learn to imitate Jesus.
- Adoration sanctifies our soul.
Eucharistic Adoration refreshes our soul and makes it anew. It is necessary for us to attend Eucharistic Adoration as often as possible, because if we are to adore Jesus Christ for eternity, then we might well learn to adore Jesus Christ in this life. If you are new to Eucharistic Adoration, you might think how just being in the presence of Jesus will help your soul. A seed grows in the quiet. you are the seed and God will help you to mature in His ways as you stay in His presence. If you have the courage to be with Him for a while, He will speak to your heart, He will restore your soul, He will lead you and guide you.
God created us solely for Himself. Therefore, when we seek anything other than God, we defeat our purpose. When we seek things only for the sake of God, we are abiding by the Will of God, because God’s presence can turn darkness into light, nothing into everything, bitterness into joy, hatred into kindness, poverty into abundance, pain into gain, weakness into strength, despair into hope, curse into blessing, and death into life.
Will you come to Jesus, with your brokenness, sorrow, pain, illness, and misery and offer it all to Him? In return, He will refresh and restore your soul, for these miracles happen silently in the Eucharist Adoration, where sinners come and are daily, little by little, transformed into saints. Like the tiny seeds which grow into fruitful trees, slowly and silently, no one can see where the growth and new life comes from, but we know it is God who restores and makes things anew.
