It is that time of the year, when you shop for presents, thinking hard how you can make an impression on those you love, and then on Christmas morning, unwrapping those gifts that were carefully chosen for you, with great love and thought, as your loved ones unwrap theirs.

If I asked you what is the most precious gift you ever received, what would it be? For me, the most precious gift is my salvation, then it’s my utmost beloved husband and then my most adorable children. I know I will be receiving gifts, all my life, but what I already have is the best and it is all that I ever want.

Christmas is the best time of the year for me, the warmth I feel around this time of the year is beyond expression. It is not just the festive feeling, the carols, the decorations, the shopping, the gifts, the food and the holidays. It is God expressing His love for us, born a humble birth in a manager and then giving His life for us so we can live for eternity.

The other day my little girl asked me what was my favourite bible story, and before I could respond, she blurted in saying, her favourite bible story is the Christmas story and her eyes lit up when I replied, “Mine too, Sweetheart!” Then in great excitement she exclaimed, “I love the Christmas story because I love God very much”, and I told her I love the Christmas story because it reminds me that God loves me very much. I then said to her, “Isn’t it amazing that He was born just for you and me?”

It is sad that most people never unwrap this free gift of salvation. We were all born in sin, which means that when we die, we were all destined to go to hell. However, Jesus Christ, who is God himself, was born on Christmas day. He took the form of man, and He bore the punishment of our sins, by willingly dying on the cross for us and then rose from the dead on the third day, so that we may not have to go through the punishment that we truly deserve, but instead inherit eternal life. However, to be saved we need to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and ask God to forgive us of our sins.

I hope and pray that this Christmas, you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. If you believe in Jesus Christ and wish to unwrap your gift of Salvation, I would like you to pray this prayer out loud.

Dear Jesus,

I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you died on the cross to save me from my sins. I believe you rose from the dead on the third day. I repent and ask your mercy, please forgive me from all my sins. I acknowledge you are my Lord and Saviour. Please Lord Jesus, come into my life.

Amen.

If you sincerely believe in Jesus Christ and have said this prayer honestly from your heart, I assure you that God will be in touch with you soon and your life is never going to be the same again.

Welcome to God’s Kingdom my beloved brothers and sisters.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9 ESV)
